Our 2023 Annual Conference in Salt Lake City was on July 19-21. Although it was a bit warm (over 100 degrees each day!), our conference had 114 registrants participating in our meetings and training sessions. Below are some highlights of the Conference, along with important decisions that were completed.
First order of activity – our core services. The Accreditation Committee recommended, and the ACCE Board of Trustees approved nine Programs for accreditation. Three of the Programs received their Initial Accreditation! We are now at a total of 99 accredited programs. Can you guess which Institution will have the 100th ACCE-accredited Program?
August 30, 2022
The 2022 Annual Conference was a historical event for ACCE as we approved the accreditation for 16 Construction Management Degree Programs! Four of the Programs were successful in obtaining their Initial Accreditation. The other 12 Programs received the maximum of a six-year reaccreditation, except for the Master's Degree Program at Wentworth Institute of Technology, which received a five-year reaccreditation. Here is the list of all 16 Degree Programs to receive accreditation approval.

Ever since the end of the Annual Conference, ACCE has been busy assembling all of the follow-up letters and correspondence based on the decisions made by the board and the planning of the Visiting Teams for this Fall semester. In this edition of The ACCElerator, we will provide highlights of the past AnnualConference, plans for the upcoming Midyear Conference in February 2022, and other miscellaneous announcements.

The primary agenda item of our Executive Committee meeting on Thursday, April 22nd, was to decide if our 2021 Annual Conference would be held Face-to-Face (F2F) or if we would once again have a virtual conference. The recent Survey Monkey poll results support our decision to go with a virtual conference once again. There is not an overwhelming amount of support for the F2F format. The “coin-toss” question in the poll was 54% for a virtual conference with 46% for the F2F Conference.

The 2022 Midyear Conference will be a historical event for ACCE as we join two of our industry partners, the American Institute of Constructors (AIC) and the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) along with their Education Foundation (NEF), for the first-ever Construction Education Consortium (CEC)! This event will start on February 22, 2022, and the last meetings will occur on February 26, 2022. The ACCE 2021 Annual Conference starts in just over one week, July 16th. At this time, we have collected $575 for our ACCE scholarship fund. As of the release of this newsletter, there are 142 individuals that have registered for the Conference.

2023 Midyear Conference

As we begin the Summer of 2021, let’s all remember the individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country on this Memorial Day weekend. I am incredibly proud and thankful for our freedom that these people helped to ensure we all have as US citizens.

What a Historic...
The massive winter storm that blew into Texas the day before our Conference started certainly created a challenge! However, the constant irregularly timed power shut-downs and the record-breaking freezing temperatures didn’t hamper our ability to conduct our Conference.

To effectively communicate how the Candidate Program works, one of our ACCE brochures has been re-designed. The updated format includes information about each step in the process, fees (amount and timing), as well as a streamlined timeline that has been reduced to approximately two years versus four to five years. The new brochure illustrates how ACCE has become more responsive to its candidate programs and more efficient with our accreditation process utilizing OneDrive and our Mentor Program.
